Amanda Lawson, The Major Gifts Office, Zone 23 of The Rotary Foundation (TRF) spoke to the club on November 7th. She briefly discussed The Rotary Foundation history and some of the things that it has done in over 100 years since its founding. She specifically discussed her area of responsibility of helping Rotarians make major gifts which are those over $10,000 given during their lifetime or with their estate plans. She noted that such gifts are one way Rotarians can funds specific areas of interest within the areas of focus which The Rotary Foundation supports. Gifts can be as general or as specific as is desired in order to accomplish ones goals in supporting Rotary's goals. More info can be found at Rotary.org/legacy.
