The Yellow Breeches Rotary Club had the opportunity to work with the Yellow Breeches Watershed Association in their annual summer creek cleanup. Working with two teams of 10-13 individuals, we combed along the lower portions of the Yellow Breeches in our kayaks and canoes, piling the trash and debris onto our boats (a somewhat challenging balancing act with the number of tires that we pulled from the creek). We were able to pull more than 20 tires from the creek along with more than a dozen bags full of trash. The assortment of slides & flip-flops that were gathered would have satisfied the pickiest of aquatic footwear connoisseurs. It was a privilege to work alongside the Yellow Breeches Watershed Association in their efforts to keep our recreational waterways clean & pristine so that our future generations might enjoy their continued use. Keep an eye on the Yellow Breeches Watershed Association website for all future opportunities to assist in their efforts: our club will most certainly be joining them next year. smiley
